Sneadal's Rating: 3/5 Bones for the trilogy. 4/10 Screams for scare-factor.

Brief Review:

Initially when I started this series, I was really excited to where it was taking me. I loved the plot twists, and essentially the realism of the media and characters. The "grudge" of Mimiko-chan, so to speak, had roots, and the history of the characters helped to unravel the mystery, keeping me hooked and making guesses about what was going to happen. The ending was somewhat confusing however, as the viewer isn't sure if Yumi has been killed or not. Though glad to find a brief explanation in OMC2, I was left even more frustrated due to a lack of character development, and that the grudges of Mimiko-chan and Li Li were supposedly intertwined, prohibiting the viewer from deducing what the fuck was going on when the red jawbreaker was left at the end of the story. While some of this may be redeemed in OMC3, and the links to the curse's undoings may have been revealed, I was unable to to be engaged with it at all due to English dubbing. I actually fell asleep (I guess that could be contributed to my recent bouts of insomnia [which is also why this is so short and crappy], but still!). If you are a baller and want to try to watch every movie of a series, I believe you will end up disappointed. The first should have been the only. The end.

Gotta love the remix of the awesome ringtone though.
